Robyn Benson

Robyn Benson’s work focuses on material and structure; how all parts of a structure interact to form a system of continuous support. Working symbiotically across drawing and sculpture, Robyn’s unfixed, balanced sculptures rely on coextensive material properties including mass, tension and elasticity. Their drawings are proposed diagrams, considering how drawn, theorised logic will exist in actual space. Based in Aberdeenshire, Robyn’s most recent solo exhibitions include Supporting Parts (2019) at Cairn Gallery, Pittenweem, and There is no equivalent structure (2018) at Rhubaba Gallery and Studio, Edinburgh.
