Abi Cooper
Abi is a queer ceramicist, zine maker, weaver and printmaker based in Kirkcaldy, Fife. Their work explores themes of folklore, grief, witchcraft, medieval history and place, with specific focus on the historical and folkloric links between Fife and Norfolk. They are currently interested in exploring fishing history and heritage from both of these places, weaving their own family history with broader histories of fishing communities, and exploring the role of craft for coastal communities (and particularly women), and environmental themes. They are also a keen cycle tourer, and one half of the duo behind Gears for Queers, a memoir of their first cycle tour published by Sandstone Press in June 2020.
