Album art for On a Green Growing Tree. It is a photograph (taken by photographer Aliza Razell) of Alice Dillon, young and with long dark hair, wrapped in a shawl and standing in front of a tree on a wintry day. The text at the bottom reads 'Alice Dillon' in the musician's handwriting.

Alice Dillon

I am a writer and folk musician based in Edinburgh. I spend a lot of time singing and writing gloomy ballads, both alone and in my duo Peerie Faeries. My solo album On a Green Growing Tree is available on bandcamp, and the upcoming Peerie Faeries album Two Are Hid is coming soon!

I’m particularly drawn to songs and stories that are fantastical in nature, especially ones with queer and subversive elements. I also run the Substack Dickens Daily, which serialises the works of Charles Dickens in accordance with their original publication.
