ArBee
ArBee’s artistic practice stems from a deep connection to Automatism, where she embraces spontaneity and the freedom of unplanned creation. The process allows her to tap into her subconscious, bypassing the constraints of control and logic. As someone with ADHD, impulsivity becomes an integral part of ArBee’s approach, as she moves from one medium to another, following where the energy leads. The fast shifts between screen printing, painting, drawing, collage, sculpture, textiles, and metalwork reflect the constant flux and rapid associations in her mind.
In screen printing and drawing, ArBee responds instinctively to the materials, allowing the process to guide the outcome. She avoids control and order, instead trusting chaos without calculation. Collage becomes a way to curate the chaos, as she intuitively selects and juxtaposes fragments of found materials. Sculpture and metalwork are similarly spontaneous, with each piece taking shape as she reacts to the materials’ textures and forms. Her textile work mirrors this impulsive engagement, with threads and fabrics coming together organically through weaving, stitching, and piecing.
The beauty of this approach lies in its embrace of unpredictability. It reflects not only ArBee’s personal rhythm but also a broader, unstructured exploration of thought and form, where the unexpected is always welcome.
