Libby Lilburn

My name is Libby, & I’m a disabled Artist.

I am Autistic , & have several other co-occurring conditions such as high functioning anxiety, SID (sensory integration dysfunction), fibromyalgia/chronic pains, and general low & mood swings.

Art became an escape for me during tough times, and my goal with my own art is to help other disabled/neurodivergent people see others like themselves within the art community, the way I wished there was I was in my lowest points.

Through creating I have found ways to explain/depict difficulties I personally struggle with, such as the complexity of my own identity being disabled.

I like to tackle nuances in regards to stigmas surrounding disability, neurodiversity, and mental health issues, & try to depict those experiences in my work.

To me art has become a gateway for me to express myself, & I hope Through my art I can help others to understand disability, & neurodiversity, outside stereotypes, particularly in regards to ‘non-visible’ conditions.
