Tom Bird
Tom Bird is a spoken word poet who performs both solo, and with two-piece band 2 Stoned Birds, with musician Johnny Threshold. 2 Stoned Birds combine wordy poetry about mental illness, self-expression, identity and fantasy with invigorating electronic music and acoustic beats to create music and performances that are authentic, honest and uplifting. Their recent performances include a full length show at Dundee Fringe 2022 and the Paisley Book Festival 2023 launch, and have featured on “BBC Introducing” and “The Roddy Hart show” on BBC Radio Scotland. Tom Bird was selected as overall winner of the Scottish Mental Health Arts Festival Writing Competition 2022 with a piece about growing up as an undiagnosed autistic person, and winner of the Loud Poets spoken word slam Dundee heat this year, and will go on to compete in the grand final at Edinburgh Festival later this year.
