Shape Something That Matters — Volunteer with Neuk
Volunteers are the heartbeat of our collective. When you give your time, you’re not just helping out — you’re actively shaping what Neuk becomes, building the kind of community you actually want to be part of.
“I feel useful — like I’m making genuinely good use of my time and energy.”
Volunteer Roles
There’s no one-size-fits-all here. We’ve outlined our current roles below, but we love new ideas. We’ll co-design a role around your interests, skills, and capacity — and it can grow and change as you do.
Neuk Local Volunteer
Help us grow Neuk:
-
- Connect with ND artists in your area to set up a Neuk Local group
-
- Bring artists together through an online Create + Connect group
For more information see our dedicated Neuk Local page here
Online Meetup Host
Facilitate online meetups and spark real conversation in our community.
This could involve:
-
- Facilitating online meetups around a specific topic or interest
Access Librarian
(Supporting our access library and helping share equipment)
We lend access equipment to artists and organisations to make creativity more accessible. As Access Librarian, you could:
-
- Manage and catalogue our equipment
-
- Help people navigate borrowing what they need
This role is best suited to those based in Edinburgh — but if you’re elsewhere, you could adopt a box by hosting equipment locally. Get in touch if that sparks your interest!
Resource Librarian
Help members find the tools, opportunities, and knowledge they need:
-
- Keep shared online spaces like the Padlet alive and useful
-
- Build and maintain an online resource library
-
- Gather and organise the good stuff
Community Governance Volunteer
Want a say in how Neuk grows? This one’s for you:
-
- Join advisory or working groups
-
- Support member-led initiatives like micro-grant panels
